Sky Sports

Responsible for the Lighting Design and Support for all of Sky News (UK)’s studio output for over 10 years, from their regular daily shows to Prime Ministerial Election Debates, with anything and everything in between. He also designed & built multiple remotely-operated studios across London.

Sky Entertainment

It wasn’t all News and Sport - occasionally Richard was able to do something more …Entertaining… for Sky Arts, Sky Atlantic, Sky Cinema, and Sky One. As well as internal Corporate productions for the top-level executives and others.

Sky Studio Design

Lists the many fixed Studios Designed and Deployed whilst at Sky. All of which were delivered on budget, on time, and proved to be very reliable and exceed their initial requirements.

The new Millennium

Television gets more bread’n’butter. Media Servers and LED’s start to appear and be used. A huge amount of Xmas Dinners. And Richard starts Freelancing at Sky, where this section eventually ends as Freelance becomes full-time Staff LD.

The 1990s

Live Debates between rival candidates for Prime Minster happened far more often from 2015 than anyone expected!

Responsible for the main studio lighting for the through-the-night coverage of the many Elections between 2015 and 2021…!

Discussion, Debates, and Arm Waving - but this time On Location instead of the Studio.
